This is an important message to all JPII families from Mr. Cassidy
You recently received a message from the school board with information about signing up for St. Josephine Bakhita, the virtual secondary school.
As Principal of John Paul II, the neighbourhood school, I would like to offer some points to keep in mind when planning for next year.
Unlike this year, students who enroll at St. Josephine will have to leave John Paul II and enroll at the virtual school. This means that students will have:
Students who are in ESL are strongly advised to stay at JPII where you can get the continued support of Mrs. Aiello Mastorakos, Mr. Novoa, Mrs. Sinai and all the other ESL teachers.
JPII has a number of unique programs and classrooms that will not be available in the virtual school including:
Over the period of the pandemic, John Paul II has been a healthy place to learn. Our students have done a very good job of staying safe; we were able to provide important support to students while at school, and we have had only 4 active cases.
We know that some students and families are successful at or need the virtual learning option, but we also know that most students benefit from a connection to their home school, teachers and supports.
If you have any questions about school for next year, now or at any time, I would strongly encourage youto call us at 519-675-4432 and speak with me, Mr. Cassidy, or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If I can’t help you out, I will direct you to someone who can.
Stay safe, take care and God Bless,
